Overview

The trendy 2010 Mercedes-Benz SLK-class inspires great passions even while standing still. A more aggressive front bumper, new grille, and new diffuser- style rear apron speak volumes about its formula 1 heritage. The SLK radiates more power and energy than ever before. It offers three roadster trim levels: SLK300, SLK350 and SLK55 AMG. A new standard premium leather steering wheel and an enhanced tire pressure monitoring system have been added to the SLK-Class features' list.

Powertrain And Performance

The stylish SLK300 comes equipped with a 3.0-liter 24 valve V-6 engine with 228 horsepower at 6,000 rpm that could go up to 60 mph in just 6.1 second. A more powerful 3.5-liter 24 valve V-6 engine with 300horsepower is standard in the SLK350. It goes up to 60mph in just 5.4 second to thrill anybody. Similarly the high-performance SLK55 AMG comes with a beastly 5.5 liter SOHC 24 valve V-8 engine with seven-speed automatic transmission that cranks out 355 horsepower at 5750rpm covering up to 60 mph in just 4.9 second. The SLK55 AMG provides serious sports car thrills in true AMG style.

Build And Styling

The SLK-Class makes an interesting visual statement with its style, while the SLK's interior design and materials are generally beyond reproach. Soft, high-quality plastics complement supportive yet nicely cushioned seats. Top-down wind buffeting is minimal, and the optional Airscarf system, which channels warm air to your neck and shoulders via dedicated ducts in the headrests, makes the SLK a true four-season. Standard equipment on the SLK300 includes 17-inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery, a tilt/telescoping steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control. The SLK55 AMG comes up with 18-inch wheels, high-performance tires, a sport-tuned suspension and upgraded leather upholstery.

Safety Features

It is equipped with antilock disc braking systems which can pump the brakes as need up to 30 times per second to prevent lock up and preserve steering ability. It is also equipped with brake assist, electronic stability control, traction control, knee airbags, side airbag and the Tele Aid emergency call system as standard features.
